A day-long training, offered in two parts for busy practitioners, this CLE will feature a presentation by the counsel for the Bureau of Prisons, discussing custody status, time credits, designations, and the First-Step Act; AI and criminal defense work; the defense of immigration cases; Sentencing Resource Counsel amendment updates, 2nd Circuit, and Supreme Court updates and a primer on ethics and criminal defense.

This program is live only and will not be available virtually.  Breakfast and lunch are included. There is no fee to attend.

The NDNY-FCBA has been certified by the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board as an Accredited Provider of continuing legal education in the State of New York. “Federal Criminal Defense Training 2025” has been approved in accordance with the requirements of the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board for 3.0 credits in Skills for the AM Program and 2.0 credits in Skills and 1.0 credit in Ethics for the PM program. This program is appropriate for newly admitted and experienced attorneys. This is a two-part program, and sign-in and out will be required for each session.
