Benefits of Membership
NEW BEGINNING JUNE 2026: Membership now includes exclusive access to the NDNY-FCBA Membership Directory and Career Center—two powerful resources designed to help attorneys build professional relationships, develop referral networks, recruit talent, and advance their careers.
NDNY-FCBA Membership Directory
Our new members-only online directory provides a searchable database of NDNY-FCBA attorneys, including names, locations, and areas of practice. Whether you are seeking referral opportunities, looking for co-counsel, or simply expanding your professional network within the federal legal community, the Membership Directory makes it easier than ever to connect with fellow practitioners throughout the Northern District of New York.
NDNY-FCBA Career Center
The new NDNY-FCBA Career Center is a members-only resource designed to support both employers and job seekers. Members may post legal employment opportunities through a simple online form and access career opportunities shared by fellow members. The Career Center helps connect talented attorneys and legal professionals with organizations throughout the Northern District and beyond.
These new resources complement the many existing benefits of FCBA membership, including complimentary CLE programming, networking events, access to members-only educational content, engagement with the federal judiciary, and opportunities for professional development and leadership.
Membership in the Northern District of New York Federal Court Bar Association offers a variety of benefits:
Educational Programs
The FCBA offers educational programs and for-credit CLE seminars, at no cost to current members, which focus on substantive and procedural areas of federal practice.
Practitioner’s Tips
The FCBA’s Federal Practice Committee compiles invaluable and practical guidance to lawyers who practice in District Court in the Northern District of New York.
Annual Events for Members
An annual meeting and dinner of the full FCBA membership, swearing-in ceremonies, symposia and other events foster social interaction among the federal judiciary, Clerk’s office and FCBA members.
Opportunity to Serve
FCBA committees work closely with the federal bench and bar and play an integral role in providing recommendations to the Board of Judges regarding court policies and procedures.
Court History
The FCBA’s Historical Committee actively promotes awareness of the Northern District’s rich history by sponsoring lectures and coordinating the nomination of recipients for the Annual Judge James Duane Award.
Enhanced Web Site
The FCBA’s new-and-improved web site serves as a clearinghouse for useful information to federal practitioners.
