The Federal Court Bar Association for the Northern District of New York
Hon. Frederick J. Scullin, Jr. Scholarship Program
is now accepting applications for the 2026 Scholarship Cycle.
In December 2005, the Northern District of New York Federal Court Bar Association (“the Association”) established The Honorable Frederick J. Scullin, Jr. Scholarship Program to recognize exemplary law students who attend Albany Law School, Cornell University College of Law, and Syracuse University College of Law. In calendar year 2024, the Association will select three (3) scholars, one from each school, each of whom will receive a scholarship in the sum of $2,000. Students currently in their second year of law school are eligible to apply.
Interested students must submit their applications electronically to Hon. Frederick J. Scullin, Jr. Scholarship Program ([email protected]) no later than October 15, 2026. Members of the Scholarship Program Committee will interview applicants under consideration during the weeks of October 19th and 26th, 2026 and will notify the selected scholars shortly thereafter. Preference will be given to applicants who intend to practice law in the Northern District of New York after graduation and who can be present to receive their scholarships at the Association’s Annual Meeting and Dinner, which will be held on December 10, 2026, in Schenectady, New York.

- A personal statement of not more than 250 words stating why you are an appropriate recipient of this prestigious award and why you are interested in Federal Practice
