The FCBA Criminal Practice Committee invites you to attend a 90-minute CLE that will focus on two critical stages of a federal criminal case – bail/detention hearings and sentencings. Panelists will discuss best practices with respect to Pretrial Services Reports and Presentence Investigation Reports. This CLE should be helpful to both newer and experienced practitioners who want to learn more about the process that Probation Officers follow in writing Pretrial Services Reports and Presentence Investigation Reports, and how judges use these reports. Panelists will include Federal Judges, U.S. Probation Officers, an Assistant Federal Public Defender, and an Assistant U.S. Attorney.
CLE Credit Eligibility: 1.5 Professional Practice
The NDNY FCBA has been certified by the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board as an Accredited Provider of continuing legal education in the State of New York. “Best Practices for Working with the U.S. Probation Office” has been approved in accordance with the requirements of the New York State Continuing Legal Education Board for 1.5 credits in Professional Practice. This program is appropriate for newly admitted and experienced attorneys.
