CLE: Local Rules 101: An Introduction to the Nuts & Bolts of Federal Practice in the NDNY – April 9, 2025

This program will introduce attorneys, particularly those in the first three years of practice or who do not practice regularly in federal court, to the nuts and bolts of practicing in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York by focusing on the District’s Local Rules of Practice, which supplement the Federal Rules of Civil and Criminal Procedure and often determine the course, if not outcome, of litigation.

This CLE is intended for all Law Day Volunteers who will be engaging in outreach efforts to schools in the NDNY and will cover this year’s Law Day Theme.  It will also be open to FCBA Members. This program will be live in Albany at the James T. Foley Courthouse and simulcast to the James M. Hanley Building (7th Floor) in Syracuse.  There is not a virtual option.

The NDNY Federal Court Bar Association will host a Special Admission Ceremony 
for Officers of The Judge Advocate General’s Corps 
on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, in Fort Drum, New York. The Admission Ceremony will be followed by a CLE on Remote Proceedings and a light lunch.
Local Attorneys are welcome to attend, with pre-registration and visitor’s pass.
